What I Love About My Small Home:
When my fiance and I moved to Washington, DC from Brigantine, NJ we experienced immediate culture shock. We traded in the ocean and beach bikes for city living and walking shoes. Finding this apartment was a challenge and required us to increase the budget! Once we saw this place we were in love and after meeting our incredible landlord we knew this was going to be our home for the next few years. The flexibility to paint, add a backsplash and swap out light fixtures is a luxury for renters and I took advantage of that! We've created a brick filled haven for ourselves and even though we downsized in terms of space we have upgraded with new friends, happy hours and most importantly - exposed brick!
