What I Love About My Small Home:

We love small living because it is an example of radical opposition to the traditional American Dream: less is NOT more! Less square footage means less upkeep, less cleaning, less of a mortgage payment, which means less time we have to spend in the office. In fact, neither of us work full-time anymore.

Secondly we love the environmentally-friendly benefits of our small home. It is rare for us to need more than one light on at a time, we heat the whole home with less than one cord of sustainably-harvested wood per year, and we find ourselves avoiding the use of appliances such as the dryer and dishwasher because we just don't want to listen to them at close range.

Finally, our tiny home fosters communication and family closeness in a big way. We work from home and homeschool our 5 sons, so a lot of living happens in these 506 square feet! Loving compromise is essential. (And lots of outdoor time!)
