Fannie Mae's Book of Business increased at a compounded annual rate of 2.7 percent in September to a value of $3.196 trillion compared to $3.188 trillion in August. The Book has increased by 2.2 percent year-to-date, and gained 1.4 percent for all of 2016. The company's mortgage portfolio had a balance of $245.133 billion at the end of the month. This was composed of $185.439 billion in mortgage loans, $53.481 billion in Fannie Mae MBS, $1.730 billion in non-Fannie Mae mortgage securities which were agency and $4.483 billion non-agency. Purchases into the Gross Mortgage Portfolio during the month amounted to $27.057 billion for a total of $222.081 billion for the year through September.
