The galley kitchen of this Brooklyn apartment wasn't in terrible shape, especially compared to some kitchens we've seen. But the builder-blah '90s color scheme made the space seem dark and dated, and the wide-set floor tiles left lots of room for grout, which means lots of room for collecting dirt. The homeowner envisioned a remodel that would give the space a brighter, more modern style, but also one that would add more cabinet space to this small kitchen, without adding more floor space — via one simple trick.
