I'm a big fan of gifting flowers—both to others and myself. They instantly brighten any room and, in a workspace, are a welcome contrast from screen life. But sometimes the experience of sending flowers can be a bit lacking… or even embarrassing. Most of the time you place an order with a phone operator who dispatches a local florist you don't choose. When the flowers arrive you have no idea if they're a reflection of your good taste, or a pile of half-wilted carnations. (Cringe.)
