Black Knight HPI Nudges 2006 Peak

Black Knight Financial Services wrapped up the October series of national home price reports with its Home Price Index (HPI). It contained numbers nearly identical to those issued earlier in the day for the S&P CoreLogic Case Shiller National Index. Black Knight, which publicly releases numbers on a non-seasonally adjusted basis, says October home prices were up 0.2 percent from September, the same as Case-Shiller's non-seasonally adjusted estimate of change. Prices were up 5.6 percent for the year ended in October compared to a September 2015 to September 2016 gain of 5.4 percent. It was the highest year-over-year increase for Black Knight's HPI thus far in 2016 and the 54th consecutive month of annual home price appreciation.
