7 Things You Never Thought You Could Do in a Rental

Renters may think there are rules forbidding changes beyond temporary fixes: Don't paint, don't make holes in the walls, and don't do major renovations. And while it might say in your lease that you can't do these on your own, it doesn't mean that you can't do them at all—you just need your landlord's permission.
