4 Spring Cleaning Tips for Your Bathroom

As you plan on how you'll tackle each room in your house for your annual deep clean, remember the following tips once it's time to go over the bathroom:

Arrange things neatly in a clear drawer
Clear plastic drawers are the "little black dress" of organizing, says Barbara Reich, a professional organizer. Use them in every room of the house. They're great in the bathroom when used to divide and organize drawers or to make great use of space under the bathroom sink. When they get dusty, clear them of their contents and wash them in the dishwasher. Source: CountryLiving

Wipe the toilet clean
Take a few minutes to get that porcelain throne shining. Spray the toilet seat, lid, rim and base with equal parts vinegar and water. Allow to sit for a few minutes, then wipe clean with a microfiber cloth, starting with the lid and working down to the base. Sprinkle inside the toilet bowl with baking soda. Don't overlook the ceiling
The ceiling often gets forgotten. But when you'll be sitting in the tub relaxing you'll be facing this part of the room so clean in, dust the corners and take care of any mold-related problems if there are any. Source: Homedit

Scrub the grime off the walls
Clean soap scum on shower walls and glass doors with a damp dryer sheet. For more stubborn buildup, combine equal parts hot white vinegar and liquid dish soap in a spray bottle. Spray the shower walls and let this solution stay in place for at least 4 hours — overnight is better — then wash it away with hot water. Source: HousewifeHowTos

MBS RECAP: Moderate Gains Keep Hope Alive For a Rate Ceiling

2.90% or something close to it continues to look like the center of a range of yields that might like to... think about... maybe... potentially... trying... to act as a ceiling for rates. After bouncing at 2.92% yesterday, yields continued lower today. That made today the 12th day since rates first hit 2.90% without moving too much higher. If you're into hope and optimism, this looks like the beginning of a potential bounce. After moving back up to the highest levels in more than 4 years yesterday, mortgage rates fell slightly today. Pessimists/realists would rightfully point out that today's rates are still pretty close to those 4-year highs, and that one measly day isn't much of a foundation for hope. Optimists could counter that yesterday's high rates merely MATCHED the recent highs from last week and that the past 2 weeks overall have seen the most sideways stability in 2018. Long story short, rates are high relative to anything seen since early 2014, but there also continues to be a chance that they'll try to avoid going much higher in the short term. Taken together, two recent posts in the CoreLogic Insights blog may indicate that, after several years of being a close trade-off or even more affordable than renting, buying a home might be losing any advantage. Shu Chen writes that the growth in rents nationwide seems to be slowing after seven years of steady increases. CoreLogic's Single-Family Rent Index (SFRI) shows that year-over-year rents, were increasing on an annual basis when the rate topped out at 4.3 percent in February 2016. The growth has been decelerating slowing since then. In November 2017 the year over year increase was 2.7 percent. Whereas almost any given day saw a move higher/weaker so far in 2018, 6 out of the past 8 have been stable or better. That makes the past 2 weeks the best counterattack we've seen yet. While that's certainly a welcome development, said counterattack has been a mostly sideways affair. It's what happens next that matters most. While GDP is already out, I'll take a moment to reiterate my standard-issue GDP analysis. No one cares about GDP, at least not in a market movement sense.
