When Pam and Michael purchased their 1906 historic home in one of Portland's most desired neighborhoods, they knew they were signing up to tackle a huge project. The house had been a rental for many years, and had fallen into great neglect — the floors were so layered with soot and grime that the wood could not be seen, ceilings had water damage and rot, and there were literally holes in the floors, revealing glimpses into the next level of the home. The couple, who both have backgrounds in design, were up to the challenge though, and jumped into a major renovation, where they touched nearly every surface of the expansive home.
