A Bright & Brand New Brooklyn Apartment — House Call

Name: Alicia
Location: Prospect Lefferts Gardens — Brooklyn, New York

My husband, two month old baby boy and I live in a bright two bedroom corner unit in Brooklyn. The apartment is modern and brand new (we moved in April 2016 and were the first ones to live in it) and has great amenities (washer/dryer, dishwasher and bathtub), which is hard to find in New York. We moved here because we were looking for these amenities with a baby on the way. I'm an interior design enthusiast and am proud that our entire apartment (furniture only) has been designed on a $3500 budget (we always look for cheap finds on Craigslist, at Salvation Army, IKEA or Wayfair). We're most proud of our IKEA hack media console that we built ourselves. We also scored on our Moroccan Shag rug ($1600 retail - we got it 75% off!), on our massive wood bed frame that we found at salvation army for $100 and on our West Elm dresser that's in the nursery ($1200 retail - we found it at salvation army for $110!).
