Pottery Barn has been going through quite an evolution this year. As average home sizes grew in the last half of the 20th century, so did their furniture. Now, the retailer is returning to their roots and catering to a smaller demographic—smaller in square footage, that is. Though their new New York flagship is anything but—the 17,000 square foot space in a 1904 Beaux Arts building on West 20th and 5th Ave opened today, and reflects the brand's new direction in both design and services.
