Not that politicians would ever waste money - after all, they can spend our money more effectively than we can, right? - but the industry had some welcome news yesterday when the U.S. House and Senate conferees reached an agreement on a multi-year transportation bill that does not contain a provision to pay for a portion of the new transportation spending through an increase in the fees charged by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to guarantee a loan (g-fees).
